Structural Display and Packaging Designer

OVERVIEW: As a Structural Display and Packaging Designer, you will play a pivotal role in creating visually appealing and functionally sound display structures. This position offers an exciting opportunity to collaborate with cross-functional teams, working on both temporary and semi-permanent displays, as well as packaging projects. If you are an Artios CAD user with experience in structural design, we want to hear from you.

SUPERVISOR: Position reports to the Director, Marketing & Design

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Structural Design:

  • Develop creative and practical structural design concepts for displays and packaging that align with brand, product and marketing objectives.
  • Utilize ESKO Artios CAD, ESKO Studio and the Adobe Creative Suite of products, to create detailed 2D and 3D renderings, prototypes, mock-ups for client presentations, and detailed production files.

Collaboration and Project Management:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including creative, sales, project management, and manufacturing.
  • Provide comprehensive technical specifications and assembly instructions for manufacturing and assembly.

Material Assessment and Quality Control:

  • Conduct material assessments to determine suitable materials and construction and assembly techniques.
  • Perform regular quality checks on display prototypes to ensure they meet structural requirements and design specifications.

Client Interaction and Innovation:

  • Work closely with clients to understand their retail environment and design displays and/or packaging programs that align with their goals.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and incorporate relevant elements into your designs.

REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Bachelor's degree in industrial design, product design, packaging design, or merchandising design or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in structural or packaging design, with a focus on display design.
  • ESKO Artios CAD user.
  • Proficiency in ESKO Studio, Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator), and other industry-standard design tools.
  • Strong understanding of design principles, materials, and manufacturing processes related to display and packaging design.
  • Knowledge of the printing and production process, including the use of dielines.
  • Familiarity with mixed substrates/materials such as corrugate, paperboard, card stock, foam core, styrene, and sintra.
  • Excellent visual and spatial awareness, with an eye for detail and aesthetics.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate design concepts clearly.

ADDITIONAL: 

  • Graphic design and 3D design ability.
  • Proficiency in 3D software (e.g., 3D Studio Max, Maya, 4D Cinema), and ESKO Store Visualizer.
  • Comfortable juggling multiple deadlines and working well under pressure.
  • Portfolio demonstrating POP driven concepts using mixed materials.

POSITION: Full-time, 8am-5pm (Mon - Fri)
