Graphic Media Alliance recognizes individuals and companies that have demonstrated exceptional dedication and service within the printing community. These accolades celebrate excellence in various aspects of the printing industry, including innovation, quality, and commitment. Whether it's acknowledging a company's commitment of high-quality prints or an individual's groundbreaking contributions to printing technology, these awards play a vital role in showcasing and honoring the hard work and dedication that fuels our community. By highlighting noteworthy achievements, these awards not only inspire others within the industry but also contribute to the overall elevation of standards, pushing the boundaries of what can be achieved in the ever-evolving field of printing.
Please help us by nominating someone that you think has largely contributed to the printing community in the Cincinnati, Columbus and Cleveland areas.
Printer of the Year
Since 1963, the Southern Region Printing Week Council, in collaboration with the Cincinnati Litho Club, has recognized a Printer of the Year. The nominee should be actively engaged in any field of the graphic arts industry, have at least 15 years of experience and have distinguished himself/herself with contributions to the industry. Maxwell Award
The Maxwell Award is given to a graphic arts organization that has distinguished itself in the manner of the city’s first printer, William Maxwell. The organization should be forward-thinking, a market leader, and recognizable for its industry and local community contributions.
In the early 1970’s, the Printing Industry of Central Ohio and the Columbus Club of Printing House Craftsmen came together and created the Franklinton Award. The first was awarded in 1974 and has continued each year to be presented to individuals or groups who have made outstanding public contributions to the Central Ohio community. This award, the highest recognition made by the Central Ohio graphic arts industry, honors Benjamin Franklin, the patron saint of the printing industry, who dedicated his life to the betterment of his community and country.
In 2008, Printing Industries of Ohio • N.Kentucky, now Graphic Media Alliance, began presenting this prestigious award to a member of the industry who had made significant contributions to our central Ohio graphic arts community, as opposed to a community leader/contributor.
The Franklinton Award will be presented to a person who:
