2016 Demand Response Program - It's Hot!

Source: KOREnergy

Weather in our part of the country is above normal and getting hotter. The summer of 2016 is projected to be one of the hottest on record.

We want to remind those who are enrolled in the Printing Industries of Ohio • N. Kentucky/KOREnergy - Demand Response Program that we started a new Program Year on June 1, 2016, ending on September 30, 2016.

It only takes a day or two of 90+ degree weather to put stress on the high voltage electric grid, resulting in the potential need for Demand Response participation!

“Events” are only called by PJM when the grid is at a point of potential “brownouts,” which doesn’t happen very often. Historically, every 3-4 years, we have an Event which lasts for 1-3 hours. If an Event is called, YOU CONTROL YOUR FACILITY AND DETERMINE WHETHER OR NOT YOU CAN PARTICIPATE!

The following are the key points concerning the operations of the Program when an Event is called:

  1.  PJM Demand Response Program:
  1. Electric Reduction Procedures :
  1. Communication Protocol – Contact Individuals at your facility:
