The Central Region Announces 2016 Printing Week Honoree

2016 Printing Week

Dave Marsh will be recognized at the 2016 Printing Week Banquet

In the early 1970's, the Printing Industry of Central Ohio and the Columbus Club of Printing House Craftsmen came together and created the Franklinton Award.  The first was awarded in 1974 and the tradition has continued each year as we present the award to individuals or groups who have made outstanding public contributions to our central Ohio graphic arts community.

The Franklinton Award is presented to a person who:

  • Is of high principles and integrity;
  • Shares time and talent to work toward the advancement of the Printing Industry;
  • Works for the betterment of society through civic, community or religious involvements;
  • has current or recent involvement with the Printing Industry of Ohio • N. Kentucky.

The 2016 Franklinton Award will be presented to Dave Marsh, West-Camp Press.  Dave Marsh started his career at West-Camp Press as an offset press helper in 1978, while working toward a degree in Business Management and Accounting, at Franklin University.  In the more than thirty years since, Dave has learned and developed the skills needed to handle every aspect of the company.  His roles have included machine operator, estimating, job planning and customer service, just to mention a few.  For 8 years, Dave's efforts were primarily focused in sales support, job planning and estimating, as well as job costing, scheduling and purchasing.  In 1992, he accepted a position at West-Camp as a commissioned sales representative and grew his account base and sales tremendously.  He assumed the Plant Manager position in 1994.

West-Camp's accomplishments are a direct result of the company's commitment to providing the best equipment, a great work environment, and are especially attributed to the dedicated team of professionals, assembled under Dave's leadership.

In nominating him, one member said, "He has always exhibited the highest levels of integrity and respect in all of our dealings and he sets quality standards at the highest levels for all employees, suppliers and other stakeholders of West-Camp."

Another member who is very proud to call Dave Marsh his mentor, said that Dave has always shared his industry knowledge and experience with others and that he excels at guiding other to discover solutions.  He's a leader and has mentored many to success.

In 2006, Dave Marsh, in partnership with Ed Evans, purchased West-Camp Press from its previous owner.  Dave's main focus continues to be personnel and manufacturing.  Dave and his wife, Diencha, have two children and have lived in the Westerville area since 1995.

Please join us at the Central Region Banquet to honor Dave Marsh, the 2016 Franklinton Award winner.
