Our presenter will be Larry Grypp who is President of the Goering Center for Family and Private Business which has been serving the region for over twenty-five years. They monitor the research and trends of non-public firms. Research indicates that approximately thirty percent of family businesses survive to the second generation, and about 10% to the third generation. The Center has compiled the Best Practices of Successful, Enduring family and private businesses that survive to and prosper in the third generation. While these best practices are easy to identify, they may be difficult to implement. Our discussion will focus on ways to implement programs to ensure that the best practices can be implemented in your family business and business family.
