HR Roundtable Planned to Keep You Up-To-Date

Human Relations has a constant presence in the workplace with ever-changing policies. This is why the Association believes it is a great addition to our annual Leadership Conference. In the past, we have brought in several industry-specific speakers to highlight issues that could potentially have the largest impact on our members. This year, we welcome PIA’s new Human Relations Specialist, Adriane Harrison, to speak at our HR Roundtable on Sunday, September 24th.

Adriane brings HR experience, as well as a broad knowledge of regulatory and legal interpretation to help navigate the complicated landscape of labor and employment law. She holds an undergraduate degree in Journalism from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a law degree from DePaul University in Chicago.

The most sought-after HR service is helping companies with day-to-day issues, many that executives or HR managers are facing for the first time. Each year, PIA’s HR fields more than 200 inquires from member companies. These inquires can involve complicated health scenarios that require addressing a myriad of regulations, such as those of the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Family Medical Leave Act, and others. In other cases, questions may relate to crafting employment policies that are careful not to discriminate and provide appropriate standards for everyone.

Adriane will be addressing how to handle these circumstances, while approaching what to expect in the coming year. Join us and bring your HR director to hear how to approach your changing and growing workforce!

On a related note, is your Employee Handbook up to date with current employment laws?  Are you sure?  Printing Industries of America offers an HR service - reviewing Employee Handbooks to ensure compliance.

PIA's HR Toolkit for Small Employers

In Printing Industries of America's HR Toolkit, there's a little-known service that PIA offers.  They will review your employee handbook to make sure that it is compliant with all recent regulations and HR employment laws.

PIA offers this service for $199 for members.

We hope you will save the date to join us at this year's Leadership Conference.

The lineup of speakers is shaping up for a well-rounded and robust conference.  In the next few weeks, we will feature the speakers and presentations that will encourage you to write those dates on your calendar and plan to join us.

Our schedule, so far:

Sunday, September 24th will offer an HR Roundtable where Adriane Harrison, PIA, will update us on current HR issues, plus a dynamic presentation by David Mauro, IT Services of Konica Minolta, on Cyber Security.  Casino Night will complete the day's schedule.

On Monday, September 25th, Robert Martichenko of LeanCor Supply Chain Group will present our keynote session: Discovering Hidden Profit - Advanced Supply-Chain Decision Making.  Vanecia Carr of Domtar will cover Millennial Sales and Lisbeth Lyons of PIA will join us for lunch to review the political/legislative picture.  The Millcraft Grand Ceremony will complete the evening.

On Tuesday, September 26th, we will meet again at the Bent Tree Golf Club for the annual golf tournament.
