Graphic Media Alliance is deeply saddened to report the loss of one of our esteemed members, Tamara Lew Watkins. Tamara, a beloved mother, grandmother, and community business leader, passed away peacefully on June 26, 2024, in Columbus, Ohio.
Tamara dedicated her career to her family business, The Watkins Printing Company, a fourth-generation organization that recently celebrated its centennial. The history of The Watkins Printing Company began in 1923 when Cyrus Watkins and Carl Eierman formed a partnership known as Watkins and Eierman. Despite challenges, including the Great Depression and the untimely death of Carl Eierman in 1933, Cyrus Watkins persevered, securing the company's future and rebranding it as The Watkins Printing Company. Under the guidance of subsequent generations, the company evolved, embracing new technologies and expanding its offerings to maintain a competitive edge.
Tamara's contributions were instrumental in transitioning the company into the digital age. She, along with her family, ensured that The Watkins Printing Company remained a leader in the industry, known for its innovation and dedication to excellence. In 2019, Tamara and her family became the sole owners of the company, further cementing its legacy. We ask that you keep the family, friends, and dedicated employees of The Watkins Printing Company in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Hanover Charities at www.hanovercharities.com. We encourage everyone to keep Tamara's family in their thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
